About Me

Born: Rantoul, Illinois, September 25, 1956
College: Southwest Texas State University, B.S., 1981
Law School: University of Houston, J.D., 1984
Membership: Houston and American Bar Associations; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Admissions: 1984, Texas and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas

Biography: I grew up in an Air Force family, one of four children. By the time I turned twelve, I had lived in Pakistan, the Philippines, and all over the United States from Maine to California. My family and I finally settled in San Antonio where I finished middle and high school. I graduated from Judson High School in 1974. I started college at South West Texas State University (Texas State). After a year, I left to join the Austin Police Department and served from 1977 to 1981. During that time, I re-enrolled at SWT, met my wife, Joan, and completed a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation, my wife and I moved to Houston where I attended the University of Houston and graduated from law school in 1984. Two years later in 1986, our daughter Elizabeth was born. After law school, I worked for a prominent personal injury law firm for four years and then started my private practice. I believe in fairly evaluating every case that comes across my desk and aggressively working every case I accept. Above all, I believe in an ethical practice and only take cases I feel strongly about. For me, investment in my cases goes beyond the monetary cost.
